Mekonnen “MK” Knife finishes a solo on Disney’s Worlds Collide Concert Tour, then races across the dark backstage area while pulling on his next jacket.
Knife described the quick change in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I have to put on my jacket while I’m running and someone’s there waiting, holding it.” He said the cast and crew keep one another on cue through the crowded costume changes.
His favorite musical stretch brings together “It’s On” from Camp Rock 2, “Like the Zombies Do” from ZOMBIES 2 and “Chillin’ Like a Villain” from Descendants 2. Knife told the outlet that the three-song mashup makes a particularly fun transition from the opening.
Knife is part of the current Worlds Collide arena production, which brings together songs from Descendants, ZOMBIES and Camp Rock.
