Ron Clements released Making Disney Magic . . . from a Mermaid to Moana on Tuesday, October 13. The 496-page hardcover is priced at $50 and includes a foreword by his longtime directing partner John Musker.
The memoir covers Clements’ 45 years in Disney animation, from Ariel to Moana, with more than 1,000 pieces of full-color archival artwork and photography.
Clements writes about the people who shaped the films, research trips, casting, songwriting, screenwriting, character development, storyboards, technical changes and early screenings. The page corners also work as an animation flip-book featuring Disney characters from the 1970s through the 2010s.
