Bob Iger told Robin Roberts that he counts handing Disney to his successor “in a very healthy state” among the top accomplishments of his nearly two decades as CEO.

In the Good Morning America interview that aired Wednesday, Iger said he was proud to have maintained Disney's century-old legacy while growing and strengthening the company. He added that bringing entertainment and joy to audiences was another legacy he valued.

Iger says he would not redo his tenure

Iger said he tried to learn from his mistakes and did not spend much time second-guessing his decisions. Though he could point to movies Disney passed on or projects that could have been better, he said his tenure turned out well enough that he probably would not change it.

The interview comes more than six months after Iger stepped down as Disney CEO in March.
