Disney plans to bring creators to its upfront presentation next year and provide funding for some Emmy efforts, according to a new report.
The Hollywood Reporter reported the commitments Wednesday, citing sources. The report did not identify which creators would appear, who could receive awards support, how much Disney might spend or the date of the upfront.
The official Disney photo above shows Dude Perfect, one of the creator groups in Disney’s recent push. The move follows Disney’s company-wide partnership with the group, announced October 15. That deal spans entertainment, sports, consumer products and experiences, with new work planned around several major Disney and ESPN events. Disney has not announced that the reported upfront and Emmy plans are limited to Dude Perfect or tied to that agreement.
