Imagineering Shares Haunted Mansion’s Early Tabletop Model

Walt Disney Imagineering shared a new look at the Haunted Mansion’s early tabletop model on October 27.

The official carousel opens inside the model’s portrait gallery. Its miniature room has a red carpet, paneled walls, draped windows, framed portraits, rope stanchions and flat paper figures placed through the scene.

The Mansion took shape at tabletop scale

Imagineering described the model as the place where one of Disney’s best-known attractions took shape before the Haunted Mansion welcomed its first guests. The carousel keeps the original model front and center, with no recreated artwork standing in for it.
