Two treats now served at Disney’s Animal Kingdom began as gold-medal entries in an April culinary competition called the Churro-lympics. Disney shared the dishes’ origin story Thursday.
Chef Brad and the Animal Kingdom culinary team developed both entries for the property-wide contest, which challenged teams across Walt Disney World to rework the classic Disney churro.

- DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae at Warung Outpost layers DOLE Whip Pineapple with chili-lime marinated pineapple and a warm cinnamon churro.
The drinks and sundae were already on the menu before Thursday’s report. The new detail is how they came out of the competition.
