Each qualifying Disney Cruise Line guest may bring either one unopened bottle of wine or sparkling wine up to 750 ml, or six unopened beers up to 12 ounces each, at the beginning of the voyage. Pack it in a carry-on bag. Alcohol in checked luggage will be removed.
The standard minimum age is 21. Guests on round-trip cruises from Singapore may use the policy at age 18. The limits apply per qualifying guest, which makes the number of eligible adults in the room matter more than the room itself.
Check the current policy before sailing
Disney Cruise Line can change the alcohol rules without notice. Review the official FAQ again while packing.
Open Disney Cruise Line's alcohol policyChoose wine or beer for each eligible guest
| Option | Maximum per eligible guest | Container rule |
|---|---|---|
| Wine or sparkling wine | One bottle, no larger than 750 ml | Original unopened container |
| Beer | Six beers, each no larger than 12 ounces | Original unopened containers |
The allowance is an either-or choice for each eligible guest. One person cannot combine a wine bottle with six beers under the published limit. If two eligible adults are sailing, each can use one of the two options.
Liquor and spirits are not included in the embarkation allowance. Bottles with broken seals or partially used containers are also prohibited.
Put every permitted bottle or can in your carry-on
Alcohol belongs in carry-on bags or luggage when you board. Do not put it in checked luggage. Checked alcohol is removed without compensation, and a leaking or broken container can also damage the belongings packed around it.
Keep each container in its original unopened packaging. Wine or beer above the limit must be discarded before entry, with no compensation. A padded bottle sleeve or sealed reusable bag can help protect the rest of the carry-on, but it does not change the size, quantity or seal rules.
A dining-room bottle carries a $20 corkage fee
Bringing wine or sparkling wine into one of the ship's dining rooms costs $20 per bottle. That fee applies to the bottle brought aboard, separate from anything ordered from the ship's beverage menus.
Alcohol brought aboard may not be consumed in a lounge or public area. Plan around that restriction rather than carrying an opened bottle through the ship. The published FAQ does not create an exception for a quiet lounge or an uncrowded deck.
Alcohol bought in port is held until the cruise ends
Disney Cruise Line collects alcohol purchased at a port of call, including liquor, spirits, wine and beer, and stores it until the end of the cruise. A port stop is therefore not a way to replenish the embarkation allowance for immediate use aboard the ship.
Retrieve the stored purchase at the end of the cruise. Anything left behind is discarded without compensation. Build that pickup into the final-morning plan, especially if the purchase is packed separately from the rest of the luggage.
What common packing plans look like
- One eligible adult: one unopened 750 ml wine bottle, or up to six unopened 12-ounce beers.
- Two eligible adults: each adult may choose one wine bottle or six beers. They do not have to choose the same option.
- A 750 ml wine bottle and a six-pack for one adult: over the allowance because the published rule allows one option per eligible guest.
- A larger wine bottle: over the stated 750 ml maximum, even when it is the only bottle.
- A bottle bought during a port day: collected and stored until the cruise ends.
