Start with your baby’s age on embarkation day. For most Disney Cruise Line itineraries, the minimum is 6 months. The minimum rises to one year for South Pacific, Transatlantic, Hawaii and Panama Canal repositioning cruises.
Once the itinerary works, request a crib and any bottle equipment before sailing. Then pack the unopened formula or baby food your child already uses. That order keeps the big decisions separate: eligibility first, requested equipment second, carry-on supplies last.
Check the itinerary before booking
Disney applies the minimum age on embarkation day and names specific one-year exceptions.
Review Disney Cruise Line’s current minimum-age rulesMinimum age by itinerary
| Itinerary | Minimum age on embarkation day |
|---|---|
| Most Disney Cruise Line itineraries | 6 months |
| South Pacific repositioning cruises | 1 year |
| Transatlantic repositioning cruises | 1 year |
| Hawaii repositioning cruises | 1 year |
| Panama Canal repositioning cruises | 1 year |
Count from the baby’s birth date to embarkation day, not the booking date and not a birthday that falls during the cruise. If the child will miss the cutoff, choose a later sailing or an itinerary with a different age requirement.
Check the exact itinerary before paying a nonrefundable amount. A seven-night cruise is not automatically subject to one rule or the other; the route is what matters.
Request a crib and bottle equipment
Open My Reservations, choose Special Requests and submit the crib request before sailing. Disney also directs families to the stateroom host for onboard requests.
Complimentary cribs, playpens, diaper disposal units, bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available on request. These items are first come, first served, so a request records the need but does not turn limited inventory into a guarantee.
| Request | Where to start | What to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Crib or playpen | Special Requests in My Reservations | First come, first served |
| Diaper disposal unit | Stateroom host | Request after boarding if needed |
| Bottle warmer | Stateroom host | Limited complimentary inventory |
| Bottle sterilizer | Stateroom host | Limited complimentary inventory |
| High chair | Onboard restaurant | Complimentary |
Plan the stateroom around naps and bottles
A crib changes how you use the room. Keep the path to the bathroom and the stateroom door clear, and decide where bottles, diapers and a change of clothes will live before bedtime. Your stateroom host can set up and take down a Pack-n-Play portable crib each day.
Bring the sleep items your baby routinely uses if they fit the cruise line’s packing rules. Do not count on a particular crib model, mattress dimension or shop brand unless Disney confirms it for your sailing.
Formula, baby food and restaurant requests
Baby food and formula may come aboard in your carry-on when they are pre-packaged, unopened and require no preparation from the ship’s kitchen. Keep them with you through embarkation rather than placing the day’s supply in checked luggage.
Pack enough of the exact formula or food your baby uses. Onboard shops sell some baby essentials, but the current guest information does not promise a particular brand, package size or quantity.
High chairs are available at onboard restaurants. Fresh pureed vegetables can also be prepared in the main dining rooms and through room service on request. Treat that as an extra option, not a replacement for the food your baby reliably eats.
