Select merchandise locations at Walt Disney World can pack and ship purchases home from the checkout counter for a charge. Ask before you pay, because the option can depend on the store, the item and the destination.
The useful part is simple: you can leave a bulky souvenir with the store instead of squeezing it into luggage. The important part comes next. Save the purchase receipt and every shipping document until the box arrives.
Ask at checkout before paying
Tell the Cast Member that you want the purchase shipped and give the destination before the transaction is finished. Do not assume every register or item can use the service. “Select merchandise locations” leaves room for store and item restrictions, so confirm the exact purchase in front of you.
If the answer is yes, ask for the full shipping charge before approving it. Rates, carriers and delivery windows can vary. A current quote at the register is more useful than an old price posted online.
Five questions to ask at the counter
- Can this exact item be shipped to my destination?
- What is the total shipping charge?
- Will the shipment have a carrier and tracking number?
- Which receipt or order number should I keep?
- Who should I contact if the box does not arrive?
Check the destination address carefully, including apartment, unit or postal-code details. Use a phone number and email address you will still monitor after the trip. If a fragile, personalized or unusually large item has special handling limits, the counter is the place to find out.
Keep both receipts and photograph them
Keep the itemized purchase receipt and the shipping paperwork. Guests often receive a separate yellow sheet, but color and format are not guaranteed. The document may carry an order or confirmation number even when it does not show a tracking number.
Take a clear photo of every page before leaving the store. Paper gets folded into bags, dampened by Florida rain and accidentally discarded. A readable photo preserves the purchase date, store, order number and destination details needed to trace the shipment.
Save these details
- Purchase date and store location
- Itemized receipt
- Shipping receipt or order sheet
- Order and confirmation numbers
- Destination address
- Any promised carrier or tracking number
How to recover a missing tracking number
If the paperwork does not include tracking, email Merchandise.guestservices@disneyparks.com. Include the purchase date, store location, order or confirmation numbers and a clear photo of the receipt. Those details can help Merchandise Guest Services identify the shipment and provide the carrier and tracking number.
Use the subject line to identify the problem plainly, such as “Tracking request for Disney World store shipment.” Keep the original paperwork until the package is delivered and inspected.
International guests should confirm the whole route
Do not assume a store can ship every item to every country. Before paying, confirm that the destination is eligible, the item can be sent, and the quoted charge covers the service being offered. Ask whether the counter can provide a carrier or tracking reference you can use from home.
For an international delivery, ask about any destination-specific charges, timing or item restrictions. Use the counter's current answer for the exact item and address to decide whether checkout shipping works for your trip.
Checkout shipping and hotel parcel service are different
Store checkout shipping covers merchandise purchased at participating locations. A parcel you pack yourself at a Disney Resort hotel follows a different process and generally needs to be pre-packed and pre-labeled.
If you plan to mail other belongings, read our guide to sending packages and receiving deliveries at Disney World hotels. Confirm the hotel can handle the parcel before building a departure-day plan around it.
Before you leave the store
- Confirm the exact item and destination are eligible.
- Review the full shipping charge before paying.
- Check the destination address.
- Collect the purchase receipt and shipping paperwork.
- Photograph every page while the print is clear.
- Circle or note the order and confirmation numbers.
- Save the Merchandise Guest Services email address.
A large souvenir does not have to become a suitcase problem. Ask at checkout, verify the details and leave the store with enough paperwork to find the box later.
