Disneyland Resort's pin-trading scene is getting new rules. Disney's official pin trading FAQ now says guests may trade pins anywhere in the resort using a lanyard and small handheld pin-trading accessories, while decorations, signage, displays, benches, chairs, and tables cannot be used for pin displays.
The long-running Frontierland trading area near Westward Ho Trading Company had become a gathering place for collectors with books, binders, cases, and larger trading setups. The updated FAQ keeps guest-to-guest pin trading available but limits displays to lanyards and small handheld accessories.
Disney Tourist Blog reported that Frontierland handouts told traders the no-stationary-setup rule would take effect Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The same handout said the designated Westward Ho trading area would transition Friday, May 22, into a kids-only pin trading area tied to Kids Rule Summer. Laughing Place also documented the notice and photographed the area.
The updated rule also bars decorations, signage, benches, chairs, and tables from being used for pin displays.
The updated FAQ still allows trading with Cast Members and other guests, with the familiar limits around official Disney pins, one-for-one trades, and a maximum of two pins per Cast Member or trading board per day. It also says lanyards and small handheld accessories are allowed, subject to resort rules. The big difference is that large displays no longer get a dedicated public setup space.
The Frontierland handout said the Westward Ho trading area would shift to kids-only pin trading starting May 22 as part of Kids Rule Summer.
Disney's FAQ says the guidelines are subject to change without notice.
