California's Great America is bringing South Bay Shores back for Memorial Day weekend, with the Santa Clara water park included with regular park admission.

South Bay Shores opens for the Memorial Day Weekend Celebration on May 24, followed by fireworks on May 25 and another holiday program day on May 26. The water park season starts May 23, then runs weekends and Memorial Day through June 6 before daily summer operations begin alongside California's Great America.

South Bay Shores sits inside California's Great America and includes water slides, raft rides, kids' splash areas, cabanas, and poolside dining. Regular park admission includes water park access, giving the Santa Clara park a second summer draw once Bay Area schools begin breaking for summer.

The water park opening lands during California's Great America's milestone 50th season. In a season preview, Six Flags said the park is bringing back classic Great America music, honoring long-running rides such as Carousel Columbia, and scheduling fireworks for May 24, July 4, and September 6.

Memorial Day weekend guests planning dry rides may be sharing the park with the first wave of water park visits, while families headed for South Bay Shores get a holiday-weekend start to pool, slide, and cabana season in Santa Clara.
