
Six Flags Great America will close at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 11, after severe weather moved through the Gurnee, Illinois area.
The park posted the early closure on its official park-hours page. Six Flags Great America had been scheduled to operate until 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service placed Lake County, Illinois under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. CDT and a flood watch until 11 p.m. CDT. The local forecast called for thunderstorms, possible severe storms, heavy rain, and wind gusts up to 35 mph Thursday afternoon and evening.
Guests with evening plans should check the Six Flags Great America app or official park-hours page before traveling. The park has not announced a broader schedule change for Friday.
