Hurricane Harbor Chicago will be closed Sunday, June 14, after cooler forecasted temperatures changed the Gurnee water park schedule.
Six Flags Great America posted the closure on its official park-hours page and homepage Saturday night. The main theme park still lists Sunday hours from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service forecast for the Gurnee area calls for a high near 72 Sunday, a chance of morning showers, and northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.
The water park had already pushed back its 2026 season start once because of cooler weather. Hurricane Harbor Chicago opened June 6 after Six Flags moved the original late-May opening weekend.
Guests planning to use the water park should check the Six Flags app or official hours page before traveling. Six Flags has not announced a broader Sunday schedule change for the theme park.
