Hurricane Harbor Rockford will be closed Sunday, June 14, after cooler forecasted temperatures changed the Rockford water park schedule.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford is using the closure alert across its official site Sunday morning. The park has not posted a separate reopening note or alternate operating plan.

The National Weather Service forecast for Rockford calls for a high near 71 Sunday, mostly sunny skies, and northwest wind of 10 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

The Rockford water park sits east of I-90 and operates with Illinois' largest wave pool, 11 attractions, and a 1,200-foot lazy river. Six Flags also runs Hurricane Harbor Chicago in Gurnee, which is closed Sunday for the same cooler forecast.

Guests planning to use the Rockford water park should check the Six Flags app or official site before traveling.
