Christopher Mortensen has returned to Canada’s Wonderland as park president after first working at the Vaughan, Ontario park as a seasonal ride operator in 2002.
Mortensen started at Drop Zone and Wilde Beast in 2002. His first run at Canada’s Wonderland later included team lead, supervisor, area manager, rides manager, and maintenance leadership roles.
He left the park in 2014 and moved through several attractions leadership jobs, including operations work at West Edmonton Mall, the construction and opening of DreamWorks Water Park at American Dream, and a general manager role at Noah’s Ark Waterpark in Wisconsin.
Christopher Mortensen Returns to Canada’s Wonderland
Mortensen’s return puts a former ride-operations employee in charge of one of the biggest former Cedar Fair parks now operating under the merged Six Flags company.
Canada’s Wonderland is also coming off a busy sales deadline. The park’s 2026 Prestige Pass sold out before the June 14 online deadline, while the 2026 Gold Pass remained listed during the final day of the sale.
Mortensen named Leviathan as his favorite ride at the park. The 306-foot Bolliger & Mabillard giga coaster opened in 2012, during his earlier stretch with Canada’s Wonderland.
