Disney's Animal Kingdom is scheduled to host Extended Evening Hours on two late-summer Wednesdays at Walt Disney World, moving the Deluxe Resort guest perk away from Magic Kingdom on those nights.
WDW News Today reported the calendar change for August 26 and September 2. The listed Animal Kingdom window runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both dates.
Wednesday Extended Evening Hours are usually a Magic Kingdom night when Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not taking over the park. Animal Kingdom gives eligible guests a much smaller ride lineup, but it also puts Pandora and Expedition Everest into an after-hours-style window during a hot stretch of the year.
Animal Kingdom Extended Evening Hours Dates
The August 26 and September 2 dates give eligible guests two extra hours after Disney's Animal Kingdom closes to regular day guests. The Animal Kingdom lineup currently includes Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Na'vi River Journey, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether!.
Magic Kingdom is still listed for Extended Evening Hours on June 24 in Disney's public calendar, with EPCOT holding its usual Monday slot this week. The Animal Kingdom change lands closer to the late-summer party season, when Magic Kingdom's nighttime calendar gets more complicated.
Who Can Use Extended Evening Hours
Extended Evening Hours are available to registered guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and a short list of other hotels, including the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green.
Guests still need valid admission and the required Disney credential for entry. Disney also warns that eligible parks, dates, times, attractions, and services can change without notice.
