Disney's Wilderness Lodge is still working through air-conditioning problems after a week of warm guest rooms, restaurants, backstage areas and lobby spaces.

A Walt Disney World spokesperson told the Orlando Sentinel Wednesday afternoon that crews had been working "around the clock" and that the resort expected normal cooling operations to return soon.

A notice posted at the resort Wednesday morning told guests that air conditioning would be temporarily unavailable starting at 7 a.m. and through the morning while maintenance was completed.

Guest Rooms and Common Areas Were Affected

Some guests received portable coolers and box fans in their rooms. Other guests were offered moves to other Walt Disney World hotels or financial compensation, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge opened in 1994 near Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom. The Deluxe Resort has more than 700 standard guest rooms, with restaurants and shops arranged around the main lobby.

What Guests Should Watch

Disney has not posted a public resortwide completion time. Guests staying at or checking into the resort should use the front desk for room-specific options, especially if a room or hallway is not cooling normally.

The cooling work is happening during a hot Central Florida week, so the issue matters most for guests returning from long park days, dining in the lobby-area restaurants or spending midday hours at the resort.
