Universal Volcano Bay is scheduled to close Oct. 26, 2026, for maintenance and reopen on or before April 1, 2027, giving Universal Orlando guests a long water park closure to account for in late 2026 and early 2027 trips.

The water park remains open ahead of the fall closure. Guests booking around late March or early April should still check Universal's operating-hours calendar because the dates remain subject to change.

Cabana Bay Access Changes During Closure

At Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the walking path to Volcano Bay will be unavailable during the closure. Some Volcano Bay View rooms may also have obstructed or altered views while the water park is closed.

That affects one of Cabana Bay's most useful perks: the short walk from the hotel to the water park. Guests who book a Volcano Bay View room for the Krakatau view should expect the closure to change what they see.

The maintenance window begins after the main fall event season and runs through winter resort trips into early spring break planning.

What to Watch Before Booking

Before booking water park time near the edges of the closure, check the Universal Orlando theme park hours calendar. A date change could affect resort guests trying to use Volcano Bay before the closure starts or immediately after it ends.
