Pteranodon Flyers reopened at Universal Islands of Adventure on July 1 after an extended refurbishment, went down again, and then returned to operating status later the same day.

CrowdLevels showed Pteranodon Flyers operating with a 40-minute posted wait at 12:04 p.m. EDT on July 1, the local time at Universal Islands of Adventure. At 3:05 p.m. EDT, CrowdLevels current data showed the Camp Jurassic ride down with no return time listed. At 5:05 p.m. EDT, CrowdLevels current data showed the ride operating again with a 15-minute posted wait.

The May 25 operations story remains useful background for the refurbishment timeline. On July 1, the suspended Camp Jurassic ride returned, dipped back down, and reopened again before late afternoon.

What Changed at Islands of Adventure

Pteranodon Flyers has a smaller audience than most Universal Orlando rides because adults generally need to ride with a qualifying child. That rule keeps demand concentrated among families who can use it, and it can make downtime more noticeable inside Camp Jurassic.

Jurassic Park River Adventure remains closed for its longer refurbishment. Pteranodon Flyers returning does not change that separate closure.

For current operating context, use the CrowdLevels ride page before heading across the park. Posted waits and status can change quickly after a ride returns from refurbishment.
