Soarin' Across America opened today at Disney California Adventure, bringing the America 250 flight film to the Grizzly Peak attraction at Disneyland Resort.
Disney Parks announced the opening Thursday morning with a photo set from the attraction entrance, including the new Across America sign and patriotic bunting around the Soarin' building.
Soarin' Across America Wait Time at Disney California Adventure
CrowdLevels showed Soarin' Across America operating with a 60-minute posted wait in the 11 a.m. PDT sample on July 2. That is above the ride's 90-day average posted wait of 42 minutes and above its usual 11 a.m. hour average of 46 minutes.
At that same Disney California Adventure check, Radiator Springs Racers had the park's longest posted wait at 100 minutes. Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Toy Story Midway Mania! were both posted at 50 minutes.
What Changed at Soarin'
Soarin' Across America swaps the global flight film for a United States-focused version tied to Disney's America 250 programming. EPCOT opened the film in May, while Disney California Adventure kept its July 2 date.
The new film still uses the flying-theater format, with guests lifting in front of the curved screen for a simulated aerial route. The route includes New England, New York Harbor, Grand Canyon West, Hawaii, and Mount Rushmore.
