Guests driving to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will use new arrival routes starting July 13, when the Seven Seas Drive connection at Floridian Way closes outside Magic Kingdom.
Guest emails for the main resort campus direct drivers to reach Seven Seas Drive from northbound World Drive. Island Tower guests are being routed through Floridian Way instead.
The change means Seven Seas Drive will dead-end at the main Polynesian entrance instead of continuing through to Floridian Way.
What Changes July 13
Guests staying at or visiting the main Polynesian resort campus should follow signs from northbound World Drive to Seven Seas Drive. Guests headed to Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows should use Floridian Way.
Drivers heading to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa should also expect the area to keep changing as work continues between the two Magic Kingdom resort hotels.
World Drive North Project Context
Central Florida Tourism Oversight District records describe the World Drive North Phase III project as work that extends four-lane World Drive, replaces Floridian Way from south of Seven Seas Drive to north of Maple Road, adds three roundabouts, and relocates part of Seven Seas Drive.
The same February agenda packet identifies Contract #C006831 for Seven Seas Drive realignment and Grand Floridian connector roadway design support, plus Contract #C006106 for project inspection services through the revised construction schedule.
The practical guest takeaway is simpler: check arrival directions before driving to the Polynesian after July 13, especially if a phone map tries to use the older Seven Seas Drive connection.
