Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated is now open in Hall D at D23 with more than 200 objects, the largest collection the Archives has displayed at the fan event.
Chloé Ferreira reported from inside the exhibit for The DIS, identifying pieces that include Rizzo the Rat's Mickey Mouse costume and Miss Piggy's Liberty crown from Muppet*Vision 3D, plus the Ark of the Covenant from the Indiana Jones scene in The Great Movie Ride.
Four live artifact reveals run each day
The Archives is holding live uncrating presentations at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the convention. Each session reveals an artifact from a mystery container, and some presentations let the audience choose which box opens next.
The display is arranged as Delivery, Receiving & Processing, Object Storage and Magical Containment. Its props and costumes range from 101 Dalmatians, Cruella and Hannah Montana to Captain EO, Mary Poppins, Star Wars and the live-action Moana.
Imagineering, Marvel and animation share Disney's largest D23 floor
Uncrated recreates parts of the warehouses where Disney stores props, costumes and puppets. The Anaheim Convention Center floor is the largest in D23 history, and Walt Disney Imagineering's Horizons pavilion is its biggest yet.
Marvel Studios has a walk-through TVA Experience. Lucasfilm brought props, costumes and filmmaker conversations, while Pixar and Walt Disney Animation are showing work from Frozen 3, Incredibles 3, Gatto and Hexed.
