Cedar Point canceled the July 17 opening night of Boardwalk Nights because of air quality conditions. The Sandusky amusement park remains open.
A National Weather Service air quality alert covers Erie County as Canadian wildfire smoke continues across northern Ohio. Cedar Point closed early Thursday under the same smoke event.
Boardwalk Nights runs through August 16, excluding Tuesdays, with evening entertainment along Cedar Point Beach and The Boardwalk.
