Fury 325 reopened at Carowinds on July 21, two weeks after a routine maintenance inspection took the coaster out of service.
Carowinds found a slight change in the foundation surrounding one of Fury 325's support columns. Engineers, maintenance crews, third-party experts and the North Carolina Department of Labor completed corrections and inspections before normal operation resumed.
The coaster had been closed since July 7. State regulators issued a shutdown order during the repair and required a complete reinspection before Fury 325 could reopen.
Fury 325 reaches 325 feet and 95 mph on a 6,602-foot course that crosses the North Carolina-South Carolina state line. The 2015 Bolliger & Mabillard coaster also closed for about six weeks in 2023 after a crack was found in a steel support column. Carowinds said the 2026 work involved the foundation around a support column.
