Citizen has released a limited-edition Spider-Man watch built around new artwork by Marvel artist Adam Kubert. The Spider-Man Swings model costs $525 and is limited to 1,500 pieces.
Kubert's drawing places an embossed Spider-Man above the New York City skyline. Luminous web lines cross the gray dial and create a raised effect around the figure. The steel case back carries a comic-book “THWIP” engraving, and Citizen includes a matching collectible pin.
The watch has a 43mm gray ion-plated stainless steel case and bracelet, mineral crystal, a date window, and water resistance rated to 100 meters. Citizen's Eco-Drive movement charges from light, so it does not need routine battery replacement.
Kubert has drawn Spider-Man, Wolverine, the X-Men, Hulk, and Captain America during a long Marvel career. Marvel's creator catalog lists more than 400 issues and collections connected to his work, including current Spider-Man titles. The watch uses a new standalone illustration rather than adapting a specific comic cover.
