The Single Rider entrance sign returned to Expedition Everest midday July 27 after disappearing earlier in the day. The separate queue is open, though its availability remains limited.
The entrance itself never closed permanently. A morning firsthand report from Disney's Animal Kingdom found Cast Members opening it for only a few minutes during many operating hours. A midday follow-up documented the repaired sign back in place.
A new loading process fills seats from the regular queue
Guests in the regular queue are now separated into even-numbered and odd-numbered groups before boarding. Expedition Everest seats two riders in each row, so Cast Members can form pairs from those groups without relying as often on a separate line to fill empty seats.
Walt Disney World has not announced that Single Rider is ending at Expedition Everest. The attraction still appears on Disney's official Single Rider list, and Disney did not respond to a request for comment included in the firsthand report.
Ask before choosing a queue
Guests should treat the Single Rider entrance as a limited option for now. Ask a Cast Member whether it is open before leaving the regular queue, and compare the posted standby wait rather than expecting Single Rider to save time.
Expedition Everest averaged 25.9 posted standby minutes across the 90 days ending July 27. The average fell below 19 minutes after 5 p.m., so the regular line was already the simpler choice late in the day on many operating days.
Update: The repaired Single Rider sign was reinstalled midday July 27. The line remains available, but the even-and-odd loading process still reduces how often Cast Members need to open it.
