The first spoiler-free reactions to Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrived Tuesday morning, three days before the movie opens in theaters. Early responses praise its action, comic-book style and New York photography.
Attractions Magazine called the movie “absolute peak Spidey” and said the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never looked more like a comic book on screen.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing. The story begins four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter lives alone and fights crime full time in a New York City that no longer remembers him. Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo also appear.
The title comes from a major change in Peter Parker's comic-book life that began in 2008. The Brand New Day publishing era followed One More Day, restored Spider-Man's secret identity and introduced a new supporting cast and new villains.
The movie starts from a similar idea after the memory spell in No Way Home, but the shared title does not mean the film will reproduce the comic story. The official synopsis instead centers on a physical change in Peter and an unseen threat to New York.
