Arnolds Park Amusement Park will scrap its Mad Mouse roller coaster and replace it with a new attraction scheduled to debut in 2027.
The Iowa park announced the decision Wednesday. It did not give a name, ride type, construction schedule, or location plan for the replacement.
The restored coaster opened in 2020
Mad Mouse opened at Arnolds Park in 2020 after operating at Joyland Amusement Park in Lubbock, Texas. Arnolds Park's history page records its July 12 return as part of the park's collection of restored attractions.
The coaster is absent from the park's current ride list. The July 29 announcement is the first direct confirmation that it will not reopen.
