Test Track's sliding-door effect is working again at EPCOT. The doors had remained disabled since a ride vehicle struck the foam panels during cast previews in July 2025.
A 15-second guest video recorded Wednesday night shows the doors opening as a vehicle moves through the indoor finale toward the outdoor high-speed section. The effect appears to start earlier in the launch sequence than it did before the 2025 impact.
The finale doors now open earlier
The doors separate Test Track's projection-filled finale from the outdoor track. Earlier versions held them closed until a vehicle approached, creating a near-collision moment before the panels slid apart.
The return documented Thursday morning uses different timing. The doors begin moving sooner, giving the vehicle more clearance while still reducing outside light in the finale room.
The effect had been off since the July 2025 preview incident. Test Track reopened to the public later that month with the doors stationary.
