Tickets are now on sale for The Dog Stars, the Ridley Scott survival thriller from 20th Century Studios, ahead of its August 28 theatrical release.
The film follows Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, a pilot living in a brutal post-apocalyptic world with a military survivalist named Bangley, played by Josh Brolin. A mysterious radio transmission sends Hig beyond their isolated homestead.
Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney co-star. Mark L. Smith wrote the screenplay, and Scott produced the film with Michael Pruss, Smith and Cliff Roberts.
A new IMAX look
A new IMAX poster arrived with the ticket launch. The Dog Stars is scheduled to open in theaters and IMAX on August 28, though showtimes and participating locations can vary by theater.
The book behind the film
The movie adapts Peter Heller's 2012 novel, which follows a pilot, his dog and a former Marine trying to survive after a flu pandemic. The film keeps that spare setup while sending Hig toward a radio signal that may point to another pocket of humanity.
