Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges at Islands of Adventure is scheduled to close for refurbishment from January 4 through February 2, 2027.
The January window gives the Toon Lagoon raft ride roughly four weeks for scheduled maintenance. The posted dates place its return before the resort’s two already announced February ride refurbishments.

Bilge-Rat Barges is the first of three currently reported winter closures. Fyre Drill at Epic Universe follows from January 25 through February 4. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure is scheduled for February 8 through February 19.
Plans can change before January, so guests traveling during these windows should check Universal Orlando’s attraction listings closer to their visit.
