Companion rules and test seats
A supervising companion requirement is separate from the minimum height. A child in the 40-to-under-48-inch range can meet the minimum and still need an adult companion. The companion must meet Universal's age and ridership rules.

Hagrid's is the clearest early-route decision in this group: its profile was highest at 9 a.m. and eased later. VelociCoaster shows a similar opening-hour advantage. Gringotts, Mummy, Minion Mayhem, and E.T. give families more flexibility, but the middle of the day is still the expensive part of several profiles.
How to plan by height
- Under 34 inches: Villain-Con Minion Blast has no minimum listed, but children under 48 inches need a supervising companion. E.T. Adventure begins at 34 inches.
- At 36 inches: Trolls Trollercoaster, The Cat in the Hat, Flight of the Hippogriff, The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride, Pteranodon Flyers, and Skull Island join the plan, with each ride's companion rule still in force.
- At 40 inches: Despicable Me, Fast & Furious, Race Through New York, The Simpsons Ride, TRANSFORMERS, and Spider-Man become options. This is the first major group of screen and motion rides for many young riders.
- At 42 to 44 inches: Gringotts, MEN IN BLACK, Jurassic Park River Adventure, and Popeye begin at 42 inches. Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls begins at 44.
- At 48 inches and above: Revenge of the Mummy, Hagrid's, Forbidden Journey, and VelociCoaster enter the plan at their separate milestones. Doctor Doom and Hulk step higher at 52 and 54 inches. Use the test seat when the attraction provides one.
Build the day around the child who has the fewest options, then add flexible rides around the tallest queue. Child Swap and family logistics
Child Swap lets one adult wait with a child who is too small or unwilling to ride while the rest of the party rides. After the first turn, the adults trade places. The waiting party can bypass the Virtual Line and wait in the queue on the attraction's staircase.
