Marvel Studios confirmed seven roles for its new X-Men movie at D23. Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, better known in Marvel Comics as Mister Sinister, while Kit Connor will play Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops.
Sadie Sink is Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott is Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette is Rogue and Maya Boyd is Storm. Sink, Connor, Abbott, Weaving, Navarrette and Boyd joined director Jake Schreier onstage. Driver revealed his role in a recorded video.
Marvel's New X-Men Team Has Seven Confirmed Roles
Cyclops was part of the first X-Men team introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963. His eyes release concussive energy, so he uses a ruby-quartz visor to control the blasts and often leads the team in the field.
Professor X founded the X-Men in the comics. Jean Grey is a powerful telepath and telekinetic, Rogue absorbs powers and memories through touch, Storm controls the weather, and Emma Frost has served as both an adversary and an X-Men leader.
Adam Driver Plays Nathaniel Milbury, Also Known as Mister Sinister
Nathaniel Milbury is one of the names used by Mister Sinister, a geneticist whose comic-book experiments repeatedly target mutants and the Summers family. Marvel has not said how closely the movie will follow those stories.
Jake Schreier's X-Men Opens May 5, 2028
Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts*, is making the movie with writers Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Marvel has not announced an official title. The film will open exclusively in theaters on May 5, 2028.
Connor stars as Nick Nelson in Netflix's Heartstopper Forever. The official Netflix publicity photo above pairs Connor with Joe Locke, who plays Wiccan in Marvel's Agatha All Along.
