Crafty’s Kitchen opens Friday, Aug. 7, in Charleston Circle at Knott’s Berry Farm. The self-service restaurant pairs fried chicken with the park’s boysenberry tradition.
The restaurant takes its name from Crafty Coyote, the pie thief from the neighboring Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair dark ride. Here, he has supposedly retired from crime to run the kitchen.
Chicken tenders and boysenberry pie shakes
Crafty’s menu includes chicken tenders, hot wings and fried chicken sandwiches. Chicken plates cost $19.99 to $20.79 and come with a choice of sides, according to original reporting by the San Bernardino Sun.
The boysenberry pie shake blends a slice of pie from the Knott’s bakery into the drink. The chicken uses the recipe associated with Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
Crafty’s Kitchen replaces the former Johnny Rockets location. Concept art keeps the rounded Charleston Circle facade and adds Crafty Coyote signs, red awnings and outdoor tables.
