Camp Rock 3 brings four songs from the first two movies back to camp: Brand New Day, Start the Party, Play My Music and We Rock. The returning tracks will appear alongside new original music when the sequel premieres August 13 on Disney Channel and streams August 14 on Disney+.
Malachi Barton and Liamani Segura lead the new cast as Fletch and Sage. Segura told D23 that the familiar songs brought immediate energy to the set because the cast already knew the lyrics. Barton said the original music carried a different weight for actors who grew up with the franchise.
Sage and Fletch take center stage
Sage arrives at Camp Rock focused on becoming a songwriter while dealing with a strained relationship with her brother, Desi. Her story turns toward living in the moment instead of treating every part of camp as another step toward a goal.
Fletch starts as the camp's resident bad boy, but songwriting gives him a way to address difficult experiences from his childhood. Barton described the role as his first chance to feel like the older, more experienced actor on a Disney set.
Connect 3 returns to Camp Rock while searching for an opening act for its next tour. Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas also serve as executive producers with Demi Lovato, who returns as Mitchie Torres in the sequel.
