Smugglers Gambit launches Sunday, August 16, connecting Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios with a new Star Wars island in Fortnite.
The park experience and Fortnite island go live when the two parks open. Access to the attraction mission is included with valid theme park admission.
Park missions can unlock Fortnite rewards
Guests can accept Hondo Ohnaka's mission in the attraction queue through the Disneyland app or My Disney Experience app. Players can also begin inside the Smugglers Gambit island in Fortnite.
The ride sends crews after crates for Hondo. Eligible guests who link their MyDisney and Epic Games accounts can carry those rewards into Fortnite, including an exclusive Forsworn Trooper Outfit. Guests who cannot link accounts can redeem a code for their reward instead.
Smugglers Gambit visits a new Star Wars planet
Disney Games and Digital Entertainment built the cooperative Fortnite island with Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Imagineering. The story takes players to Mersa Veta Station on Ord Ryla, where teams battle pirates and Imperial remnants, encounter wildlife and build a reputation across the Outer Rim.
Disney developed new characters and locations for the island. Unreal Engine 5 also supports the connection between the digital mission and the attraction experience.
