Disney will retire the Play Disney Parks app on September 16. The app will be removed from mobile stores that day, and existing users will no longer be able to sign in.

The shutdown closes several interactive experiences built around the app at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Guests who want to revisit saved achievements have until September 16 to do so.

Star Wars: Datapad Closes With the App

Star Wars: Datapad will retire on September 16. The Galaxy's Edge game lets guests hack droids, scan cargo crates, translate signs and take missions around Black Spire Outpost at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park.

Batuu Bounty Hunters will remain available through MagicBand+ and the screens installed around the land. The phone component in Play Disney Parks will stop working.

DuckTales and Queue Games Face Unanswered Questions

The app also powers DuckTales World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT, attraction queue games, parks trivia and digital achievements. Disney has not announced what will replace those functions.

Disney reporter Scott Gustin said there was no additional information to share about the future of DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. The EPCOT experience has recently been unavailable for refurbishment.

Play Disney Parks Launched in 2018
