FX released the first trailer for The Drop: A Snowfall Saga, which premieres September 8 on FX and Hulu. The sequel follows Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons as they try to rebuild their lives in 1990s Los Angeles.

Gail Bean and Isaiah John return as Wanda and Leon. The crack epidemic's aftermath has helped fuel the rise of West Coast rap, and Wanda believes the new music can reshape American culture.

Wanda builds a West Coast rap group

Wanda begins assembling a group around her cousins Lamar and James Kinsey, played by Asante Blackk and Peyton Alex Smith. She also pursues local rapper Artillery, played by Simmie "Buddy" Sims III.

Her internship with label owner Darryl "DG" Grant, played by Brandon Mychal Smith, opens a path into the music business. Leon is trying to leave the streets behind while working through a free legal clinic, putting the couple on separate but connected tracks.

The Drop continues the story of Snowfall, which ended its six-season FX run in 2023. The new series moves the surviving characters into a changing Los Angeles music scene without leaving the earlier show's consequences behind.
