Silver Dollar City’s Miner’s Mountain Express has reached its first visible construction milestone. Crews installed six vertical columns on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and the park now describes the spring 2027 family coaster as officially vertical.
The current construction count leaves 320 columns to install. The new steel is rising in the Ozarks for a ride built around a runaway mine-car expedition toward a lost entrance to Marvel Cave.

Six Columns Now Stand at Miner’s Mountain Express
Silver Dollar City’s first six columns are the opening piece of the coaster’s above-ground structure. Crews worked from a lift beside the black steel supports, with existing Silver Dollar City track visible behind them.
The Family Coaster Is Still Planned for Spring 2027
Miner’s Mountain Express is scheduled to open in spring 2027 as part of Silver Dollar City’s next expansion. The ride will send families through Daredevil Pass, across rugged Ozarks terrain and past a flooded mine shaft while following the story of a search for Marvel Cave’s lost entrance.
The coaster is part of a $150 million investment in the park’s next chapter. Silver Dollar City built the project around a real Ozarks mining story, with a family-ride format rather than a standalone steel layout.
