Walt Disney World transportation cast members have signed a steel piece that will become part of the resort's fourth Magic Kingdom ferryboat. Laughing Place reported that cast members from across Disney World transportation were invited to leave their names before the piece was installed.

The signing adds a small cast-member mark to a ferryboat Disney announced in May. The vessel will increase the Walt Disney World fleet from three boats to four, the first expansion since 1976.

The Fourth Ferryboat Is Named for Meg Crofton

Disney plans to name the new boat the Meg Gilbert Crofton, after the Walt Disney World president who led the resort from 2006 through 2013. Her portrait and a plaque about her career will be placed on the first deck.

The Boat Is Scheduled for 2027

The 120-foot ferryboat is being assembled and finished in stages before its planned 2027 launch on Seven Seas Lagoon. The boat will serve the usual ferry route between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom.
