Crews have filled more of the curved channels that once held in-ground lighting at EPCOT’s World Celebration Gardens, according to BlogMickey’s Aug. 22 on-site report.
The new concrete appears beside the central planter behind Spaceship Earth. Rolling hedge barriers still block part of the walkway, while the open side remains available to guests.
Concrete Follows the Former Lighting Pattern
Additional sections of the paver path now contain concrete, following the same curved lines traced by the removed light strips.
The report documents a physical change in the plaza. Disney has not announced a replacement lighting design or a completion date for the work.
World Celebration Gardens Remains Partly Screened
Hedge-covered construction barriers remain around part of the central planter, with potted plants and work materials staged near the affected path. Guests can still pass through the unobstructed side of the plaza.
World Celebration Gardens opened around Dreamers Point with modern lighting elements and natural textures. That 2023 design context predates the current concrete work.
