Marvel is mourning Roger McKenzie, the comic-book writer whose work on Daredevil helped push Matt Murdock’s stories toward a darker tone. Marvel announced McKenzie’s passing in an official post on Friday, August 21.

McKenzie’s Daredevil Work Shaped a Darker Era

Marvel’s tribute credits McKenzie’s Daredevil work with helping establish the character’s darker tone. Daredevil is Matt Murdock, a blind New York lawyer who becomes a street-level superhero; McKenzie’s comics belong to the character’s publishing history, separate from current Marvel Studios screen projects.
