Disney+ will release The Simpsons episode Yellow Mirror on August 26. The official first-look trailer previews a fractured reality for Homer and an AI-powered tablet that takes control of Maggie.

The standalone special is the third new Simpsons episode Disney+ scheduled for this summer. TVLine published the exclusive first look on August 24, while Disney+'s official pages confirm the release date and two-story premise.

Homer and Maggie Face Separate Technology Nightmares

Disney+'s synopsis describes two stories. A defective lamp exposes a painful truth about what Homer believes is real, while an AI-powered tablet befriends and controls Maggie.

The trailer adds a glimpse of teenage Homer at Springfield High School and introduces Hailey, the tablet's artificial-intelligence voice. Marge initially uses the device to keep Maggie occupied during a family night out.

Yellow Mirror Arrives August 26 on Disney+

Disney+ announced the three-episode summer run in May. Yellow Mirror follows Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition and Simpsley as a Disney+ exclusive rather than a new broadcast episode.

The special arrives one month before The Simpsons Season 38 begins on Fox on September 27. The show's annual Treehouse of Horror episode remains part of that fall season.
