The first giant otter sculpture for Otter Springs is now in place at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. Walt Disney Imagineering’s August 25 episode of Pardon Our Pixie Dust features the installation at the Walt Disney World resort under construction along Bay Lake.
Otter Springs Will Add Water Play to The Wetlands
Otter Springs is part of The Wetlands, the resort’s planned outdoor recreation area. Disney has described the space as a water-play area with interactive features where children can splash and slide. The August 25 episode features the sculpted otter form that will anchor that setting.
The otter installation appears alongside other construction updates in the episode, which also visits Disney projects at Avengers Campus, Cars Land and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Lakeshore Lodge Is Planned for Summer 2027
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is projected to open in summer 2027. The nature-inspired resort will include 967 accommodations and sit on the former River Country site along Bay Lake, near Magic Kingdom and Fort Wilderness Resort.
