An Orange County public-record entry now lists August 25, 2027, as the expiration date for construction at the former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser building at Walt Disney World.
WDW News Today identified the entry as an extension of a permit filed on August 26, 2025. The record names “General Construction” at 201 S Studio Drive and lists Balfour Beatty Construction LLC as contractor. Disney Facility Asset Management is the filer.
The Permit Covers the Former Starcruiser Building
The filing extends construction authority for the building that housed the two-night Galactic Starcruiser experience. It does not set a guest-opening date or describe a replacement attraction.
WDW News Today reports that the former building is being converted into Walt Disney Imagineering offices. The permit record does not identify the work's purpose beyond its general-construction scope.
Disney’s Office Conversion Has No New Guest Opening Date
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opened in March 2022 and closed permanently in September 2023. The new permit keeps construction authority in place through August 25, 2027, while the office conversion remains the publicly reported plan for the former hotel.
