A revised narration is now playing on the EPCOT Monorail, according to WDW News Today’s current ride-through report. The script adds Walt Disney’s explanation of EPCOT’s name and removes references to several older projects and attraction details.
The EPCOT Monorail connects the Transportation and Ticket Center with EPCOT. The line is one of Walt Disney World’s three monorail routes, according to the resort’s monorail information. The narration change affects the audio guests hear during that trip.
Walt Disney’s EPCOT explanation returns to the route audio
The EPCOT segment now includes Walt Disney’s recorded explanation that EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
The revised script also describes The Seas with Nemo & Friends through the real aquatic animals guests can see in the pavilion, according to WDWNT’s report.
Older pavilion and attraction references are gone
The new version no longer names the Play Pavilion or the planned Mary Poppins attraction. It also drops references to individual World Showcase countries.
At Imagination!, the narration mentions Figment without referring to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival. Soarin’ is named without the former “Around the World” subtitle.
The Monorail scripts add a no-vaping reminder
WDWNT also reports that the EPCOT, Express and Resort Monorail narrations now include a reminder that vaping is not allowed.
