Pixar announced that Toy Story 5 will begin streaming on Disney+ Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The date gives the sequel its first subscription-streaming window after its theatrical run.
Toy Story 5 opened in theaters on June 19, arrived for digital purchase on August 18 and reaches Blu-ray on September 22. Disney+ follows the physical release one day later.
Toy Story 5’s Release Schedule Reaches Disney+
The sequel’s home-release dates now run from digital purchase in August to physical media in September and subscription streaming the following day. Disney has not announced a separate Disney+ release time.
The film returns Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie to Bonnie’s room. Its “Toy meets Tech” premise sends the toys up against Lilypad, a tablet device that arrives with its own ideas about playtime.
Pixar Puts Lilypad Against Woody and Buzz
Lilypad is a new character rather than a returning Toy Story toy. The tablet’s arrival gives the familiar group a technology-centered problem while keeping the story in Bonnie’s playroom.
Toy Story 5 is directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris and produced by Lindsey Collins. The voice cast includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and Joan Cusack as Jessie.
