Disney has scheduled the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom for a full attraction closure from Sept. 28 through Oct. 29, 2026. Disney’s date-specific schedule lists operating service again on Oct. 30.
The Sept. 28 service record labels the attraction’s schedule “Refurbishment.” Disney has not published a reason for the work in the attraction or date-specific service records.
At 12:20 p.m. EDT on Aug. 31, CrowdLevels’ current Magic Kingdom feed listed the railroad as OPERATING with a 20-minute posted wait. That current snapshot is separate from the future closure schedule.
The Railroad’s Sept. 28-Oct. 29 Refurbishment Window
Guests visiting Magic Kingdom during that window should plan around the railroad being unavailable. The attraction has no operating times on the Sept. 28 and Oct. 29 service records, and both records label those dates Refurbishment.
Service Resumes Between Main Street and Fantasyland on Oct. 30
When service returns on Oct. 30, the train will operate as a shuttle between the Main Street and Fantasyland stations. The Frontierland station remains excluded while the Magic Kingdom expansion continues, so the return does not signal a full-loop reopening.
