Frontier Developments announced on September 3 that it has entered an agreement with Disney to develop and publish a new game drawn from Disney’s portfolio of intellectual property. Frontier will fully fund the project.

The project will build on Frontier’s creative-management simulation experience, the category behind Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and the Jurassic World Evolution series.

The game is still unnamed

Frontier and Disney have not identified the Disney property, title, platforms or release window. The companies have not identified a park setting or a specific franchise.

Frontier’s management-simulation background

Frontier’s established creative-management simulation franchises include Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution. The company also mentions an unannounced Planet game currently in development.

Disney’s growing games portfolio

Nine Disney game franchises have each grossed more than $1 billion at retail, and Disney and Pixar mobile games have passed one billion installs since 2014. The portfolio spans Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm properties.
