Jurassic World: Escape is the subject of a new behind-the-scenes feature from Discover Universal. The experience is at Universal's Great Movie Escape in Universal CityWalk, alongside Back to the Future: OUTATIME.
The experience stays inside the 2015 Jurassic World timeline
The game takes place alongside the story of the first Jurassic World film. The feature says the creative team worked with the franchise's IP team so the story beats and details fit the film's canon.
Guests enter the Park Operations Center and work through a crisis on Isla Nublar. A guide named Riley Matthews leads the experience, which uses the film's 2015 setting rather than moving between different points in the story.
Bravo links the escape game to the parks
One of the experience's most recognizable characters is Bravo, a Velociraptor also seen at Raptor Encounter in rotation with Blue at Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Hollywood. The connection gives the escape room a direct link to Universal's live dinosaur encounters.
The room is packed with film references
The feature points to an embryo freezer inspired by the original Jurassic Park, a power room based on Ellie Sattler's race to restore electricity and a high-voltage fence that recalls Alan Grant's famous electrocution fake-out. The experience also lays out a full Jurassic World attraction map, including the Gyrosphere, Mosasaurus Feeding Show, Gentle Giants Petting Zoo, Cretaceous Cruise and monorail.
